The pupils of Scoil Naomh Peadar 's Pol receive the Carlow county prize of €2500. The sponsors, the Irish Independent, under their project "Building for the Future" chose this year's project as "Improving our Community"

Bernie Mullins, school teacher and project leader, told the webmaster that the children worked mainly on their own initiative and had a limited time to do the work. She tells me that the Project Book can be viewed at the school or borrowed to view at home.

The children have obviously though out the projects very carefully and have plenty of good ideas for the village. How can the community help them to acheive their ideals?
