FBD Insurance Ras through Ballon
There was excitement today
as the Ras sped through the village.
This is the biggest amateur International event in Europe and attracts
teams from all over the world.
Local Ballon man Eddie Dawson
voluntarily manages the daunting task of arranging the accommodation
for the 200 cyclists and the support group
of 300 throughout the eight day race; and during the early arrival of
some
of the teams - all is done using his holiday entitlement.
Eddie has been involved for
36 years including being a rider, managing a team
and now arranging accommodation and organisation
