Style, panache and elegance were the order of the evening at the Ballon Community Centre Fashion show held in Mount Wolseley on Nov 3rd. The models who took part were from a cross section of the community together with others who are actively using the hall facilities for sporting activities on an ongoing basis. The event was ably compered by well-known local stylist Faith Amond. The boutiques who showcased their collections were Elanna’s from Tullow and Carlow based were Touch of Class, Serena, Savannah, Erre Esse, and Dame. Mac’s Menswear also Carlow competently kitted out the local men who all looked very dapper in their outfits. The models also showcased some of Faith Amond’s Hat Collection, ideal for the races, a wedding or any other special occasion. Hair was by Sandra’s Hair studio, Carlow and also by Angelz in Ballon. Local girl and newly qualified makeup artist Emma Maher and her friends shared their expertise with the models who all looked stunning on the night. The venue at Mount Wolseley was very comfortable and the staff were very professional at all times. The committee would like to express its deep gratitude to all those who sold tickets for the event, to those who gave spot prizes/sponsorship and to those who modelled. Their contribution made the event the success that it was. Thanks also to local man and photographer Michael Martin who is always so generous with his time in the provision of great memories of many an event locally. The evening concluded with an address from the chairman Mr Padraic Lalor in which he thanked everyone associated with making the event a great success.
A special thank you to Helen and Gerry for their organisational skills and contribution to the community.
