Inclement weather conditions did nothing to deter those who attended the fundraiser of Ballon Community & Sports Centre in collaboration with Ballon N.S. Parents’ Association. This year’s fundraiser was a cookery demonstration held in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel on November 7th and hosted by the inimitable celebrity chef Edward Hayden of KCLR 96FM and TV3 fame.

The evening opened with an Artisan Food Fair. The exhibitors for the most part were all local producers.

Well known food blogger and children’s author Fiona Dillon launched the evening with a cheese and wine reception. This created a very nice atmosphere for those attending.

Edward’s theme for the evening was ‘A Taste of Christmas’ and as always shared his expertise and tips with his audience. His quick wit and culinary excellence equally enthralled the spectators.

The committees would like to extend their gratitude to all those who sponsored the event, to all of the artisan food producers and to those who gave spot-prizes for the raffle. The collaboration of all efforts contributed to a very successful evening.
