| Dear Colonel,
We, your tenants, cannot allow this auspicious
occasion of your marraige to pass by without expressing in some humble
way our feeling of friendship, respect and esteem towards yourself personally.
We are glad to be able to bear testimony to the fact, that since your
advent to the old ancestoral home, your dealings with us, have been of
a most satisfactory, friendly and amicable nature -
We feel confident that these happy and pleasant
relations so absolutely necessary for the welfare of the country, will
continue in the future as they have in the past - Your charitable interest
in the sick, poor and needy especially of those in your employment - though
performed in the most unselfish and unostentatious manner - has left undying
regards in the hearts of grateful recipients - We feel sure that we are
only voicing the sentiments and feelings, of the general public, irrespective
of party or sect in extending to yourself and Mrs. Lecky, a most cordial
greeting and hearty welcome home.
We wish you both all blessings, long life, prosperity
and every happiness. We beg you to accept this humble address and Wedding
gift as tokens of our sincere sentiments and good wishes towards yourself
and Mrs. Lecky.
With kindest regards and all good wishes for your
welfare and happiness
We remain,
Dear Colonel
Most Respectfully
yours
