The Millenium clock represents the New, the Bull Tree represents the Old and the Keys of Sts. Peter and Paul represent the Spiritual aspects of the community.
The group was formed following a public meeting held in the hall on 21st May 2001. This was called by Seamus Cummins and Seamus Dowling in seeing a need to cordinate local activities regarding the appearance and safety of the village.
In order to ensure that we represented the view and aspirations of the people a circular was delivered to each house within a mile of the village seeking their views.
In
priority we chose the top five and made these our objectives consistent with maintaining
the activities of the Tidy Town's group which has worked conscientiously and quietly
for so long.
We created a high profile with all councillors, T.D's and relevent
council members. When things didn't seem to be progressing we increased out lobby
and attended several council meetings. We also made a presentation to the councillors
and council officials of the Tullow Electoral area.
