Hello Ballon,
Just happened across your website and found it very interesting, mainly because I was born there some 87 years ago. At least that is what my mother told me latterly as she had to leave the village (I was illegitimate - a shocking scandal in those days!). I never did know my father except that I gathered he was quite well off for those times.
My mother eventually ended up in the U.S of A., married and had several more siblings.
Who knows, I may pack a suitcase and take a trip over to see the village in real life!
