Yes, this year Ballon National School were again awarded 1st Prize for the school's entry in the Pride of Place Awards held in Ballykealey Manor on the 18th October, 2005.
Congratulations to all concerned, teachers and pupils, and to the Council for their initiative and support in promoting these awards. A packed audience of 350 swelled the ballroom of the Manor supported by the dignitaries of the Council and the Carlow Rose.
