Ballon/Rathoe Bingo is the mainstream fundraiser for the Hall’s debts and deserves support. Support it already gets from the 200 plus players arriving by coach, cars and Shanks’ pony from Carlow, Bunclody and Ferns in addition to local support.
The hall is a magnificent venue being bright, cheerful with plenty of space, wheelchair friendly and with a shop for snacks, drinks and the ubiquitous marker pens. Then there is the hatch which sells tea and coffee.
The jackpot stops at €3000 and its ticket is called about half time. If not won, then a second jackpot is started so there is always a lot to play for. Books are sold in a multiple of options being suitable for all ages and the last sheet of the evening has a prize of €250

 21/12/13

Last night, 21/12/13 was the first time it was held in the new Community Centre and there were special prizes attracting a record number as the pictures show.

This is an important fund raising activity for the parish and a real community service attracting players from ‘far and wide’

Breeda McDonald was the caller ably supported by a team of 10 volunteers.
