COUPLE CELEBRATE DIAMOND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Paddy and Teresa Grant, Ballymogue, Kilbride celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a party held in Ballykealey House Hotel, Ballon on Saturday 28 September. Prior to their party the couple had a special blessing performed by Very Rev Brendan Howard PP in St. Peter and Paul’s Church, Ballon.
Mr and Mrs Grant (nee Whelan) were married by the late Very Rev James Gardiner PP, Ballon/Rathoe in St Patrick’s Church, Rathoe on September 30, 1953. Their bestman was Patrick Walsh and the Matron of Honour was Kathleen Byrne.
Paddy and Teresa were joined at their celebrations by their son, Seamus, and daughters Gretta, Teresa, Catherine and Geraldine. Also present were the couple’s sisters along with their daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as other family members and a large circle of friends.
Paddy and Teresa were accomplished Ballroom dancers and over the years won numerous competitions. They have also acted as adjudicators at competitions.
