Today the 6th class made a trip to the Barrack Stream in Michael Martin’s garden to learn about the importance of good quality water in our rivers and streams. The mentors were Michael and Anne from the Local Authority Waters Programme. Everyone was amazed and excited by the amount of life discovered and identified lying just below the bed of the stream. And, as a bonus, one boy caught a pinkeen.
Then it was to Breda’s for lunch in her lovely garden.

The children planted French Beans, cauliflower and onions.
Hope to sow the carrots next week. Its a labour of love and very satisfying working with
Mrs Bernie Mullins and the children.

In support of the Ukraine disaster Ballon, School held a cake sale fundraiser. How one sick man and his advisors could wreak such havoc when most of the world condemns what they are doing is a mystery.
It just takes one bad apple in the barrel but there is more good in the world than bad and BallonSchool is an example.

THE BIG TRAVEL CHALLENGE 2022
The Green-Schools Travel team invited schools to select a theme and ballon opted for cycling. The response was excellent and the imagination knew no limits as can be seen in the gallery. If any are missing please email me for inclusion.
